Can I fit a chandelier to my orangery roof?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.01 PM

I have just started a room extension, the roof has a 4mtr x 2 mtr orangery type roof in the center and I would like to fit a chandelier in the center of it. I haven't ordered the roof yet, can the glazing sections be used to run cables through? They look quite narrow, are there any issues around fixing a chandelier to them? Thanks in advance for your help

Hello, You need to find out the weight of the chandelier and then contact the supplier of the lantern and ask them the question.... Regards Andrew

You might be looking at earthing the structure if it contains metal parts. If you are drawing current carrying cable through it as it then becomes an extraneous conductive part just like steel conduit or trunking as per the regs
