Sliding door wardrobe into alcove

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.04 PM

Hello all, I'm ordering sliding doors and track for a wardrobe that I'm putting into an alcove in my bedroom. It will stick out from the alcove at one side by about 10cm in order to give adequate depth, and have a liner running up the wall at the other end for the doors to close against. There will also be an 18mm thick liner on the floor that the track will fix to. I'm laying a laminate floor in the bedroom as part of this whole project, question is should I lay laminate throughout, then fix floor liner directly to laminate, or fix floor liner to floorboards, and then laminate up the front of this? I am probably going to use beading for the edge if the laminate to reduce work Thanks

Hi. A laminate floor is a floating floor and should not be restricted in movement in any way. Not to mention if you eventually decide to change your flooring you will have to dismantle your tracks and doors. Hope this helps Tom abbey property and maintenance ltd
