Leak under shower - damp underneath lino around shower
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.01 PM
Any advice greatly appreciated. I have noticed the carpet next to our ensuite shower is damp. When I lifted up the Lino in the ensuite it appeared to be very dark and damp underneath around the shower. We recently had the shower replaced, costing several hundred pounds, for the same issue so I'm really worried that the joists etc will be ruined and that the job wasn't originally done properly. Can anyone give any ideas what might be the issue and how it could be resolved - I don't want to end up disappearing through the floorboards into the kitchen....!

The chances are it's coming from the waste, it normally does. It may not have been
tightened up properly, is the tray sat on the floor on legs or platform?
It is possible it could be from sealant is it split, or possibly the shower pipes.
Is it electric or a shower mixer? Where are the pipes coming from?
