Which flexible adhesive for 60x60cm polished porcelain
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.01 PM
I have been shopping around online for adhesive and with so many on the market, is it wise for go for the cheapest deal? I will have electric underfloor heating going onto a solid concrete sub floor, and know I need flexible adhesive and in white as the tiles are light in colour. I have seen a rapid set 20kg bag at wickes on offer (2 for £35) I was going to go for this, but wondering what differences there are between this and other companies. Are they practically the same for the job I need it for? Thanks in advance

Hi dhesi
You would be better off going to a professional tile shop to buy your adhesive. Better adhesives have more polymers in them, and these make the adhesive more flexible. Before you tile, cover the underfloor heating mat with a self levelling compound suitable for underfloor heating mats. This way if you ever have to replace a tile you won't be chipping adhesive off the wire matting. It also makes tiling so much easier. If you're not used to tiling, buy a slow set adhesive, you'll thank me.
