what broken bond would i use too get a 950mm length using 215mm long bricks

if i wanted too build a wall 950mm long wat broken bond would i use as a brick is 215mm long plus 10mm joint so 4 bricks at 225mm would give me 900 mm thankyou.

firstly as a rule of thumb you are right with your measurements (4 bricks=900mm), but to set out a wall at 900mm long you would have 4 bricks but only 3 joints. in other words you would end up with big perps and it would look a pigs ear. to get your 950mm, I would aim for 3 bricks, a 3/4 brick and a half on the end. on your next course you would start with half, 3 bricks and 3/4 on the end. keep the perps as tight as you can so you get a bigger overlap on the 3/4 and halves. don't be tempted to just put a closure on the end - that is proper DIY stuff and will look dreadful!! regards graham

Graham is spot on. 3 full bricks, a 165mm cut and a half. Then alternated as mentioned.
