Connections for double oven gas cooker with electric grill
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.48 PM
Wife has ordered a freestanding gas double oven cooker with electric grill. What cable and connections would be needed? Does it require the 30 amp cable and socket? These are sold as gas cookers not dual fuel.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Follow manufacturers fitting instructions. It may just plug into a wall socket.

Dear Franksnr,
Check manufacturers installation section if any booklet available for Electrical Installation Guide line.
If cable is attached with back of the cooker you can easily spot plug or without plug.
If cable end have plug that mean you can plug in to BS1363 wall mounted socket.
Also you cannot just change your cooker connection unit if any on wall at the back of the old appliance as this need to be checked at fuse board side as most of the time this need down grade to protect appliance side cable.
In my best view call your friendly electrician who can check free or with very basic fee or post your job on my builder to find your local electrician.
All the best,
Be safe :)
Kind regards,
Vin
