Depths of foundations for extension - from damp level or ground?
Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
Hi I'm thinking of building a single story extension to back of house but unsure about depths. I've been told to dig 1125mm down but not sure if that height is from damp level or ground. Also do I fill back up with 750mm concrete then 150mm trench block and 3 course of bricks. Thanks

Having excavated 100's if not 1000's of foundations in my life as a ground worker, you are correct what you are being told, but you are better doing all brickwork as you can not lay 150mm trench block without cutting them
