Can't fit cooker as exposed central heating pipes run under cooker

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.04 PM

I have just had a new cooker delivered and have been told that they can't fit it as exposed central heating pipes run under the cooker. The old cooker was there for 15 years and no issues. Is this correct or are John Lewis fitters making it up?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi it is possible to fit the cooker but you may need to build a small stand/base for it to lift it above the pipes. The fitters are correct that it is not the done thing to fit over pipes. if there is ever a problem with the cooker then you could damage the pipes getting it in or out. Check with Gas Safe or a good electrician regarding this. Regards Tony Williams Williams Maintenance
