Curtain pole won't stay in the wall, what shall I do?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

Hi, can anyone help? We have a curtain pole that will not stay up in the wall, we think that where it goes the section is porous. We have tried numerous cement to full the holes, but when we finally think we have reminded the problem, the curtain pole just will not stay in. Anyone got any ideas please?

If you have soft bricks with lime render it is very difficult to fix anything to a wall,if indeed this is your problem, if the walls in the property are like this then I would suggest that you place a timber along the length of the wall where you intend to place your pole and fix and glue this to the wall, the fixings will help hold it in place while the glue, ( no nails ) type will make a more solid area to fix to, if you think this will not work you will need to investigate the problem and take the plaster off to see why you cannot fix anything to it. Hope that helps.
