Installing a thermostat - does the stat have to be rated for the heater?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

I have an electric heater that I want to fit to a thermostat. I see some of them are volt free or very low voltage (amps). Does the stat have to be rated for the heater or am I missing something? I have read about relays and AC contactors, is this something that i will need or simply buy a thermostat that has a high enough amp rating? I would like a wireless remote control so the plugin one is not an ideal solution.

Best off using a plug in thermostat try this link http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Heating_Index/Therm_1/ This should be perfect for you.
