How to remove fuse from wylex fuse box
Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.31 PM
I have a blown fuse in wylex nhrs12s and can't get the fuse out... Is there something different about these fuse boxes or should I be able to pull it out?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The wylex NHRS 12S split load fuse board has 2 copper buzz bars (buzz bar provided power to the MCB fuses) at the bottom of the fuse board covered by a plastic protector.
The buzz bar is live when the main isolator is on on the main isolator buzz bar side and live when the RCD isolator is on the RCD isolated side.
Best practice is to turn off the main isolator to disconnect the power for both buzz bars.
To remove the MCB fuse you must:
1) undo all the screws at the bottom of the all the MCB's including the Isolator live side holding the copper buzz bar.The buzz bar will then fall out exposing the release lugs at the bottom of the MCB fuses.
2) With a flat head screw driver inverted in the lug of the MCB you won't to remove push down. With the lug down lift up screw driver until it hits the bottom of the MCB in about a 45 degrees angle but still with lug in the open potion.
You will find the MCB will release itself from the din rail .

Hi Emma. Powermax is right with his answer but please be comfortable with what you are doing as if you do it wrong there is potential for a really big bang (not kidding) and you would not want to be next to it if that happens.
I really would not recommend anyone not competent to replace an MCB although not difficult, it's really important not to do it wrong.
Kevin.

Hi Emma
Could you post a pic of your fuse board. I doubt if you've blown a mcb.
