Luke warm water from shower, bathroom sink and bath but heating and kitchen tap fine
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.04 PM
So nothing has changed with the boiler, heating the flat as normal. Kitchen sink hot tap is still hot as normal but in the bathroom, the shower (runs from the mains) is luke warm. Turning the temperature up or down does nothing at all, doesn't get hotter or colder. The bathroom sink and bath (run off the same pipe) are hotter than the shower but still not as hot as they were a couple of days ago. Pressure seems as normal. Any advice?

If the shower is a thermostatic mixer, replace it. They often go wrong and affect the temperature of other taps close by. The shower mixer should be capable of giving cold water at least, not the same temperature all the time as you described.

This is almost certainly a failed shower cartridge.
A plumber will be able to inspect this and carry out a few checks to make sure this is the case. It would be worth paying a plumber for an hours labour to do this before splashing out on a new shower.
Most of us on here offer free quotes and advice, so it might be worth just posting a job.
Best of luck!
