Calculating number of down lights required in a bathroom

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

Our bathroom fitter installed 3 x Collingwood H2 Pro LED lights (Halers range). The light is blinding and when we complained he has suggested fitting a dimmer pull switch to dim all 3 lights. Is this a feasible solution? The bathroom is 2.3 m x 1.6m x 2.4m high. Has he installed too many lights? They are 430mm from the wall and the distance between them is 850 and 115mm and 115 mm in a triangle shape. Not sure how to address this with him. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you for taking the time to reply. However we still think the lights are too bright ( each one is 8.5 watts) as does everyone who has seen the bathroom. The light takes all the colour out of our white/light grey/pearl grey tiles so they look pure white. We will have to change the bulbs. Can you suggest an appropriate LED watt bulb to give an equivalent light to an old 60 watt bulb?

It's normal to install four lights, so three is not over the top. As suggested, either fit a pull cord dimmer or fit lower powered LED lamps.

I wouldn't have thought 3 lights would be over the top - we have 5 in our bathroom which is 1.8 x 2.6m, but like he says, you can fit a pull switch dimmer, as long the LEDs are dimmable versions.
