How to remove marks to mosaic tiles in wet room area?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.47 PM

Our bathroom fitter, changed the bathroom to a disabled with a 1m by 1.2 meter wet area with tray underneath and mosaic tiles in the 1 by 1.2 meter. Unfortunately they failed to put a cover dust sheet over the wet area mosaic tiles when doing the rest of the bathroom, we cannot get the marks off?? It cannot be paint as they did not paint the bathroom, the whole bathroom was tiled, could this be tile sealant or glue? We cannot seem to get anything of them at all, and for a new bathroom that cost 8K this is spoiling it a little. We just assumed they would come up when he had gone, they are like glue or sealant marks, but nothing budges them...Also assures us properly sealed around bottom, I am not so sure. Does the wet area look properly sealed? https://www.dropbox.com/s/bepgbaqv5vg6eza/2013-12-07%2017.05.21.jpg Many Thanks

Hi, There doesn't seem to be any silicone sealant between the walls and the tray, although that doesn't necessarily mean it's not sealed well behind the tiles. Personally I would always have sealant there. In a wet room belt and braces is always best, I think it's best practice and aesthetically much better to have sealant there. The marks on the tiles do look like adhesive from the picture. If the floor tiles are porous it will be very difficult to remove the marks. There are various cleaners available which you local tile shop will be able to advise on, and you might want to speak to the tile supplier or manufacturer and see what they recommend. I hope this helps. All the best Ashley
