Gurgling noise from boiler - lukewarm hot water

I recently had an engineer in to test the boiler. Since that day, the hot water has been running hot to tepid then back to hot. The boiler ignites and a gurgling noise can be heard from the boiler. After a minute, the boiler starts to kettle and the boiler stops heating the water. There is no reduction in water flow at any time and the gurgling and kettling is not present for central heating. The boiler is perfectly quiet and functional for the central heating. Sabre HE combi boiler. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
