Expanding foam for bouncy floor spot (engineered wood)

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

Can I use expanding foam as a quick fix to a bouncy floor spot? The floor is engineered wood and the plan is to drill a small hole, insert the foam and put weight on the flooring to ensure sideway expansion and avoid bulging. Thank you

Hi, I would strongly advise not to do that. Expanding foam is very unpredictable, the foam will bush the floor up. Even if you put a heavy object on top. Please don't do it!!! Hope that helps

Hi. If your having a problem with a dip in the floor you should think about self levelling that part of the floor. Before I fit any floors being real wood or laminate I would self level out any dips as this can create problems once its installed.
