How long should new wall be left to dry before putting new window in?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

We are looking at having our patio doors removed and a window put back in its place. My question is how long should the new wall be left to dry before putting the new window in? My builder has said it will take him a day to do the whole job. Thanks in advance. Thanks for the info.... Yes the window will be the same width as the patio doors so hopefully he can get it done in a day....

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I am assuming that the new window will be the full width of the patio doors. If this is the case, your builder will be able to take out the patio doors, brick up to the height of the window and fit the new window comfortably in a day. However, if the window opening is to be reduced in width and the brickwork is to be built up the window jambs, then I would leave the new brickwork a couple of days before fixing the new window. Hope this helps
