Potterton Suprima replacement

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.00 PM

The present boiler is just over 15 years and is showing its age. Lots of rust around the bottom of the boiler and not too reliable. British Gas has just upped my service contract by 25% to just under £500 per annum. I have a Harton Cosybug sealed, pressurised water system. Which boiler would you recommend? The house is 15 years old on three floors with properly sealed windows and cavity wall insulation.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Potterton suprima should last about 20 years, the rust you are seeing is just surface rust, probably from a very, very small leak above it. You are wasting £500 per year on a BG Contract. Find a good local Gas man in your area. Life of your Boiler & Cylinder 20 years. 20 x £500 = £10,000 Service Contract are great for BG because most boiler only breakdown about every 5 Years. New boiler comes with 5 years parts & labour guarantee so no service contract is needed.
