Do I need another fuse board for economy 7 meter?

Just had an economy 7 meter fitted, do I need another fuse board? My electrician says I need another fuse board fitted, why?

If you want to have economy 7 heaters or have circuits that only come on during the cheap rate electricity then yes you will need a second fuseboard.

Dear Hazel,
You need new fuse board as the economy 7 meter will supply off peak load in your house or flat as per BS7671, IEE wiring regulations.
Please get the installation certificate from your registered electrician and make sure he/she notify to local authority for the update.
