When run fingers across paint, leaves trails like faint chalk

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.59 PM

I have had my wall replastered and it has dried out for 2 weeks. On the feature wall, the decorator applied a thinned coat first and then 2 subsequent coats of Dulux Redcurrant Glory. It has dried but I have noticed when I run my fingers across the dry paint it leaves trails like faint chalk!!! What and why is this? Thanks. Oh if you then wipe over with a dry cloth it goes???

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there. The reason this is doing this is the grease on your skin of your fingers. Best not touch them as all reds and blues do this. Hope this has answered your question. Thanks Andy
