Tiling

I want a new bathroom suite but don't want to have to tile again..

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.03 PM

Hi, looking to install a new white bathroom suite (to replace an old pink suite) but the tiling is fine as it was done well after the original bathroom suite was installed. Unfortunately, the tiles on the walls are now discontinued and we are going to have a gap between the new bathroom suite and the existing tiles round the bath. Any ideas? Additional Thanks for the answers - Re the reply from Smooth Plastering - what would I do with the gap when the tiles have been removed? This is the dilemma I have - I cannot get the same tile anymore so I don't know what to put at the bottom of the existing tiles.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Well I am afraid there is not a lot you can do, if you patch it with another tile, I have done this on a bathroom it did not look good and in my opinion it will need retiling to make it look good.

What I would do is remove the old grout around the bottom row of tiles with a scraping tool or dremel. Then using a squirty bottle spray a mist through the gaps and leave for about 20 minutes. Try and lever a tile off gently, if it's too hard spray again and wait.
