Boiler Firing Without Signal From Thermostat

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

My boiler keeps turning itself on in during the day and the evening. According to the wireless thermostat (Salus RT500RF) the room temperature does not drop below the level that should ignite the boiler ie the room thermostat shows a temperature of 24c and the heating should only come on at 21c. Also, the flame graphic that appears when the thermostat is activated does not appear. This is getting frustrating and, I expect, expensive but I am not sure how to correct the problem. The thermostat was only installed at the beginning of the year. Hi James - it's a combi boiler

Salus room stats are not very accurate, they are at the very cheap end of the spectrum, try placing a temp gauge/thermometer near the room stat and note the temp difference. If their is a considerable difference then I would suggest you replace it for a better and more accurate one, such a Honeywell DT92E or Drayton Digistat +RF Room Thermostat more expensive but better build quality.
