Radiators cold at bottom after installing Greenstar R24i

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

We recently replaced the old boiler with a new boiler (Worcester Greenstar R24i). Since then, I had 3 radiators are hot at top half and cold at the bottom half. Also, another radiator in bedroom is totally cold. Worcester after-sale service has confirmed that the boiler is OK. All the radiators were installed last year. Before the replacement, only one radiator had a problem which was left half cold and right half was warm. But now this radiator is totally cold. What's the possible causes for this issue and how to fix it? Shall I expect the boiler installation company to fix the problem? If they don't fix it, shall I pay them in full?

A pre-requisite of any boiler installation is we as installers have to ensure the heating system is clean prior to works commencing. Did your installer do this? If he did, then ask him how he achieved this. Remember that all manufactures have the right to void your warranty if your system was not cleaned prior to the boiler being installed!

Did the installer of the new boiler. 1, Clean the system with a cleaner which he should have done as part of the installation. The boiler install instructions do state this. 2, Fit inhibitor as same as above 1. 3, Fit a filter. 4, Balance the radiators? I would get them back to be honest as they should have given you at least 1 year on there work in addition to the warranty by worcester.
