Why is my new microwave tripping the breaker?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.59 PM
Hi there, I replaced my microwave this morning and all was well after setting the clock on it until I pressed the button to open the door. Instantly I heard a crackle and smelt a burning smell and then the LCD display went out. I turned it off and found the breaker had been tripped in the garage. After resetting the breaker the microwave didn't work. My problem is this.. Is there something wrong with my house electrics as the same thing happened to my last microwave which was plugged into the same socket? (It had been working fine for the three years prior) The kitchen was rewired 5 years ago and we've not had any problems until a few months ago when the first microwave went poof. Any help would be very much appreciated Kind regards Sarah
