What can I put on top of skirting so I don't get paint on them?

Hi, I have just emulsioned my living room walls apart from the bottom near the skirting board. What can I put on the top of skirting so I don't get paint on them, as they don't need glossing. Thank you for any advice angie

Hi, my advice is to put caulk on top of the skirting just put it on top side wall and pull it with finger
