I put my gas fire on full but as soon as the gas central heating comes on it goes out

Gas fire and boiler serviced in March. Since then gas fire only comes on for a short while and then goes out, however relighting pilot every time not a problem would not stay lit. Numerous visits from plumbers to no avail.
Again tonight, gas fire burning on full until gas central heating clicked on, fire lost its power for 5 mins then regained full power. But as it burst back into full life pilot in ch boiler had gone out instead. I can either have a gas fire on in lounge or ch but not both. Problem only began immediately after march service. Cost so far to no avail. Is it the service, plumbing or external issue?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
It sounds like your service engineer didn't do the job properly. If you have a back boiler & gas fire combined then it sounds like the gas tap wasn't correctly aligned on re-assembly.
If you have a separate boiler & gas fire it could well be that the gas fire restrictor elbow hasn't been fully re-opened.....consequently when the boiler kicks in it offers a lower resistance path for the gas and you fire gets starved of gas.
It may also be that the ECV at the gas meter wasn't correctly switched back on after the engineer visited.
I cannot stress enough how potentially dangerous this situation is.
Get the original guy back - make sure he is Gas Safe too. If he refuses to return or wants extra money - Call Gas Safe as he has left you with a potentially lethal and life threatening gas installation
Ask your Gas Safe installer to start with basic checks, if he hasn't already.
First, carry out a standing gas pressure test. Second, carry out a burner pressure test at both appliances whilst they are both briefly on at full rate.
Let us know their findings.
Turn off your gas fire. Do not use it
Turn off your gas supply at valve next to supply meter and contact the telephone number on the meter.
This is a pdi installation.
Must be reported as soon as possible.
Reason
If the fire goes out... no flame.
Then the gas supply reinstated by another appliance. This would create a gas leak.. build up of gas in the room where the fire is installed
Big regards

Hello
I would suggest getting an engineer to check firstly the gas pressures on the appliances including the meter while both are on and note any change on the fire when the boiler is ignited secondly.
Hi , as we can only speculate weather you have a back boiler or a wall hung boiler and gas fire , gas pressures with both appliances on max must be checked plus a
Standing pressure test it might be that the governor on the gas meter is at fault you need to ring the emergency number which is on your gas meter this is a very dangerous situation
