How to tell 316L or 904L grade stainless steel flue liner
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.59 PM
Hi, I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with a question. How can I tell whether a flue liner is 316L or 904 grade stainless steel? The reason I ask is I think my installer may be ripping me off :-( Many thanks, Mike

I'm not sure that you would be able to tell if the packing list has been removed (if the liner is unwrapped, in other words). An experienced installer would be able to tell by the weight of the liner, and in some instances, it will be stamped on the liner itself. However, many liners that I've come across have no indication of the grade stamped or written on the liner itself.
