advice on bonding - do I need coat of thistle bond?

I have artex on my walls. Do I need to put PVA on then a coat of thistle bond with a trowel before putting on 2 coats of thistle multi finish? Or can I just put on the PVA then the 2 coats of thistle multi finish? Thanks in advance.

It depends on how thick the artex is so you need to pva then bond walls then plaster or if not to thick then pva then apply multi finish plaster hope this helps you
