Electric shower pump humming loudly every time shower or taps are used

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.02 PM

Hello everyone I have been suffering with severe noise due to a shower pump humming VERY loudly every time the shower or the taps in the bathroom are used. Also if the shower pump switch is left on, even when the shower is not in use, it turns on/off EVERY 30 seconds continually! It is driving me mad! It keeps me awake as the vibration and humming is very loud. I also worry that it could also be an electrical risk for me in my flat? Please could you advise what the possible problem could be. The water system is an immersion heater and storage tank, top floor flat and the pump is positioned on the floor next to the water immersion tank in the bathroom. It was here when I moved in. thank you :-)

Time I feel to replace your faulty booster pump. Choose a good quality pump such as Grunfos or Stuart & Turner, they are more expensive then other makes but you are paying for good build quality and reliability. But first ask your local plumber to investigate your concerns before replacing the existing pump!
