Radiator has low heat despite others working fine and had power flush last year

Anonymous user 14 March 2024 - 2.31 PM

I have 8 radiators in my house, all of them are working fine except the one in living room - doesn't get warm enough even if on full temperature. I've got done power flush last year (British Gas) for my 8 year old boiler. What would be the best option? Do the radiators need to be cleaned often? If so, how long / often...or the radiator that doesn't heat properly only needs to be fixed? Help please

Hi, your radiator might need bleeding or balancing. If its hot at the bottom and cold/warm at the top then it needs bleeding(letting the air out of the top screw vent) If it is cold/warm all over and its the furthest radiator from the boiler it may need balancing. A local plumber should do it for around £20-£25. It could be a blockage at one of the valves which means removing the radiator and then letting the water flush thro the valves, then make sure there is no debris in the radiator. regards Gary
