No water coming from hot taps after drained header tank

Drained header tank to remove broken toilet but now have no hot water
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You will have an air lock, wait till tank is full then try your hot water tap. If that does not work, if you have a mixer tap in your kitchen put it half way round so that hot and cold water will come out, cover tap with hand and put on and it will push the cold water and air in to tank clearing the air lock.

I presume you mean the cold water storage tank if it feeds the toilet. If there is no water in the cold water storage tank, then how do you expect the hot water cylinder to operate.
