What's a good, reliable and efficient boiler for a 3 bed semi detached house

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

We have an old boiler that is currently functioning as a combi. We have a large 3 bed semi detached house and the old boiler is so inefficient and costly and now it's starting to break down (in all fairness it's over 25 years old). I keep hearing horror stories about boilers only lasting 3-5 years nowadays. Is there a good make that I can get that has a longer shelf life? Thanks for getting back to me. I'm having problems getting an answer on the KWh issue but there is a label on my boiler that says "input 18.67/20.32/21.98 and output 14.65/16.12/17.59 might that be it? My budget is £3000

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

What is your budget first and the Kw rating of your existing boiler? Ok thanks, it's a at most a 22Kw boiler. Go for a Worcester Bosch 25Si combi or Ideal Logic Plus 30Kw ( both will deliver about the same hot water) and have full 5 year manufacturers parts & labour warranty. Trade price is approx W-B £940 and Ideal £840 inc vat Either of the above boilers if properly installed and maintained annually will last 8 -10 years plus, before serious parts replacement will be necessary. Also best practise will be to have your heating system power flushed prior to new boiler install.
