How can I check if property has mains gas supply?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.01 PM
Does this house have mains gas supply? I have been to view a 1960's house in the Hull area, the estate agent could not tell me and the lady who lived in the house has died so unable to find the answer to this simple question. In the understairs cupboard appears to be a capped off gas pipe ( approx 32mm dia) and another capped off pipe (approx 25mm dia), I assume the larger pipe to be the supply and the other would be to the cooker. No meter or shut off valve are fitted. Only electric cooker and heating in house. How can I find if this supply is or ever has been connected?

Contact your preferred gas supplier, ask for new connections, they will investigate and establish if there is a live gas supply to property.
