Downstairs lights not working after plastering done in upstairs bedroom
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.58 PM
After having one of our bedrooms plastered out upstairs, we noticed that some of the downstairs lights (under that bedroom) stopped working. We checked the consumer unit and noticed that the switches hadn't tripped. But today (a week after the plastering was done) those lights have suddenly come back on. Could it be moisture drying out?

Dampness in the electrics causes short circuits causing an overload which would trip the circuit breakers. The fault you have described sounds like a loose connection or faulty switch/(transformer if extra low voltage lights). I would have to recommend getting it checked out.

Whilst moisture can't be ruled out, this sounds like a loose/poor connection problem.
