Moving bathroom downstairs to make third bedroom upstairs

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.46 PM

We're thinking about moving our bathroom downstairs to make a small 3rd bedroom upstairs. The previous owners of the house converted the attached outhouse and moved the kitchen into there, leaving the original room for the kitchen as a playroom but a huge waste of space imo. We are going to move the kitchen back into the original room regardless so if possible, we would like to move the bathroom into the room that is now the kitchen. Is this a possibility? What things should we think about? Thank you in advance

Hello there Moving the bathroom downstairs is not a problem but something to think about would be the soil stack which is the pipe that all toilet and bath waste goes into, just to make sure that this is accessible for the plumber still. After saying that, it's not impossible to do if you can't get to it, but if you have to start digging into drains that can be expensive. Hope this helps and good luck Stuart
