What can I do to improve low pressure shower?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.46 PM

Hope some one can help. I live in a rented house with a really old boiler system. basically there is a tank in the bedroom which i think holds hot water, I presume there is a tank of cold water as well somewhere. The water pressure from the shower is bad, it's not an electric shower, just one that comes from the tap. When I moved in my LL said he had installed a pump so that the water would go through the shower but I don't even know if that's true. What can I do to improve the water pressure? Thanks,

Get a pump fitted, or have an electric shower professionally fitted. Good luck, Bob

The only thing you can do to improve the pressure is fit a twin impeller pump to increase both the cold and hot water. If you say the LL has fitted one, you should be able to hear it kicking in when you turn the shower on. You should also be able to see it as the ideal position for the pump is in near the hot water tank which is the copper cylindrical tank, probably the one in your bedroom.
