Pebble dashing coming off and patchy after torrential rain

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.46 PM

We have just had our house pebble dashed - it was finished 3 days ago, however with the torrential rain last night, loads has come off and it looks really patchy in some places with hardly any dashing in some areas. What can we do?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there Not much can be done, does not sound like the stones were pressed in. You can brush off all the loose stones, apply a good quality adhesive and find a professional to carry out the dashing. Regards Joseph

Hi I would say keep it dry but that's just impossible now, brush off the loose stones but if there's "hardly any dashing in some areas" I would wait let it dry out fully.. than see if more comes off.. contact the tradesperson and request they take a look but if the person is unwilling to help then just remove and get it redone by a professional plasterer not great news there ..but most tradespeople are willing to help when asked nicely ;) Unwashed stones and stones not being pressed in correctly or just incorrect mix for dash work can lead to problems but without viewing your job then its pure guesswork but I hope you get a happy outcome.
