Building a brick raised bed garden
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
I've decided to build an 8 foot by 4 foot raised bed garden. I'm using Accrington brick 2 courses then placing treated 6 inch planks on top of the brick with metal straps to secure the planks. I'm building on cobbles with 9 inch of soil then 1 tonne of top soil and then border soil mixed in with compost. Any suggestions regarding the above materials or additional thoughts would be welcome.

Building anything with brick will need some sort of concrete slab on the base to act as a foundation. Also if you're planning to cap your brickwork with timber then you need to use FSC graded tanalith e timber with a damp proof membrane between the brick and timber. Hope this helps
