Tiling

Can you tile around an already fitted toilet and sink?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.00 PM

I want to get the walls of my ensuite tiled. Can this be done without moving the toilet and sink? If the toilet and sink have to be moved, can the tiler do this or do I need to get a plumber?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could tile around a sink but it wouldn't be an ideal solution and they would be very difficult cuts to get right. It would be far easier to remove the sink first. A tiler may be able to remove it if isolating valves have been used. Tiling with the toilet in place won't work as you won't be able to tile flush to the top of the toilet and still have access to the cistern. This should definitely be removed first.

It can be done but won't look good at all. Most tilers can remove and replace the sink and loo.
