Gas fitter or electrician for dual fuel cooker?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.45 PM

The previous owners of the property had a gas cooker which they took with them. I would like a dual fuel cooker (gas hob and electric oven ). Do I need a gas fitter,an electrician or both. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Both really as both parts need to be carried out by competent registered persons and certificates issued for each part i.e. one minor electrical works certificate for the electrical connection and a gas safe certificate for the gas connection. Without the certificates, you will most likely invalidate your house insurance should the oven cause a problem in the future where you needed to make a claim.
