Is clear roof membrane an acceptable lining?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.00 PM

I am selling my house and the surveyor has raised a query regarding the roof lining. It is a clear membrane (which apparently he hasn't come across before) so has flagged it as an issue on the Home Buyers Survey. Could someone please advise me as to whether this is not an acceptable lining and if so what action should I be taking. I have never had problems with leaks so I'm assuming it is doing the job. Please help as I'm very worried my buyer will pull out.

The surveyor has shown how inexperienced he is, it's called breathable membrane and now used on all new roofs, although it is completely water proof it allows your roof to breathe.

breathable felt should feel like a paper cross fabric.if it feels like plastic sheeting then it could cause condensation and damp problems
