Levelling garage floor with sand and laying damp proof membrane
Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
I am having a garage conversion and in some places the concrete floor needs levelling off. Is it ok to level the areas with sand then lay the 1200 gauge DPM over the top then the 100mm Celotex Insulation Panels followed by 22mm Chipboard. It's mainly around the edges and in the centre but only about 10mm. Much appreciated.

you would be better off using self leveling compound to which some sand can be added for the deeper areas(as per manufactures instructions) , this will give a solid floor on which to build, regards Terry.
