Damp proof course not visible due to patio being built too high, can new one be added?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
Previous owner has built patio up against rear of the house too high, not allowing for damp proof course to be visible. Can a new DPC be injected above this patio level or would the best option be to dig up and drop the patio level next to the house? House is 1970's build and no damp problem exists at present, patio was laid before 1994 when I moved in.

Prior to doing this, make sure that the work is required. If no damp is visible internally, then don't fix what is not broken. Install a chemical damp proof course at a level above the patio will be incorrect as it will not be correct level in relation to the internal floor.
