Roof retiled before or after internal decoration?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.58 PM
Hi We have a close boarded roof in a 1910 property. In the house survey it suggests we need the roof retiled in the mid term 3 -5 years. We were wondering that if we got all the internal decoration and works done first, such as loft insulation and part boarded, and the ceilings and walls plastered throughout the whole house - would then getting the roof batoned and retiled in a couple of years cause any damage to the internal plaster works? Or would it be advisable to get the roof done first? Thanks, any advise you can give on this would be much appreciated.

Roof first - prevents leaks (hopefully) and your new decor will not be disturbed.

roof first,
it is now compusory to upgrade your loft insulation when refelting your roof and also now requires building regs to sign the job of, it also prevents dust ruining any inside work you are having done.

It doesnt matter but dont get your loft insulated unless you are going to get it fully boarded before you get your roof done because they will just leave anything that drops into loft which you need to check before payment
