Damp Proofing

Damp proof course not working. Can we do it again?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.58 PM

We have done a damp proof course without success but we have a new plaster. Can we do a damp proof course again without removing the plaster? And which way of damp proofing should we use? Thank you.

Hi there You can put in a new damp course by taking off the skirtings and injecting, then putting the skirtings back, but how do you know it is damp if you already have had it done? If it has been re-plastered, this has to be done in a waterproof sand and cement with salt inhibitors. If a gypsum plaster has been used, then you will need to have it removed. Check to make sure it's not another damp issue eg condensation Regards Joseph
