Do I need to use the clips provided with an Indesit ceramic hob?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

I have an electric hob from B&Q. There are some clips provided which presumably go underneath to keep the hob stable/tight. The instructions are poor and they do not seem to fit any where that I can see. There are a number of holes underneath the hob but none of the screws fit them. Do I need them?

I have fitted many gas hobs, and electric hobs are no different in terms of making it secure. The holes that you see on the underside of the hob are indeed the fixing holes for the screws and clamps, they may appear to be to small but you will find that with a small amount of elbow grease the screw will drive home. You will find the correct holes on the outer perimeter of the hob, place the screws provided through the clamps first, then with a steady hand offer them up to the correct holes and drive home all of them until the hob is nice and secure. Normally sealing tape is provided by the manufacturer which requires applying around the perimeter of the hob before final install. Hope this helps.
