Ask your local Gas Safe engineer to attend and he will advise you based on your hot water consumption. As a combi boiler may not be suitable, so other boiler types may be more appropriate. This service is normally offered FOC.

Seeing that you had a glow worm, why not a glow worm easicom 24 or 28kw. fitted around 30 of these with no issues. Combi is always a wining solution if water pressure permits.

Since you have a back boiler two bedroom house and one bathroom it’s recommended to convert it into a combination boiler which will suffice you’re property size
Bare in mind, as a surveyor myself you need to get couple of things checked such as which boiler make do you want to go for as some may be the highest in cost and some maybe in the middle and some very cheap also you need to keep in mind the warranty as you get what you pay for as an advance installer I provide 10 years warranty for example on the Vaillant model boiler which can cost around £1,100 including VAT
And a pre-requisite before installing the boiler is there is to do a power flush so you can be rest assured that the system is clean and green and no sludge Or limescale is present prior to installing the boiler
Lastly ensure magnetic filters are installed and you service your boiler yearly for the best outcomes and you hire a trustworthy and competent gas safe registered engineer.

"We live in 2 bedroom house 1 bathroom "
I suspect there are 3 or 4 people in the house..if there is space in the kitchen I would go for a seal syetem ie:combination boiler .
you will free up space where your hot water cylinder is and free up loft space where you have feed and expansion tank.
as far as the fire is concern you can remove it or install gas fire only.
But like JWC said get a Gas Safe engineer to survey the possibilities

A 24kw combi boiler would be the correct boiler for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom property

Many combi boilers come with warranty, from 5 to 10 years. You need to bear in mind that the manufacturers will only honour the warranty if you've had it serviced annually. A survey would have to be completed by an engineer to ensure you get the best from your installation.

In there’s instances it’s best to talk face to face with your local engineers that can advise based on your needs. Not every boiler is suitable for every house.

Hello I undertake boiler installion everyday.
I would recommend to have a combi boiler installed.
the back boiler and fire to be removed.
Normally the cylinder (hot water tank) is situated in a landing cubard or a bedroom this would need to be removed.
The easiest place to install the boiler would be where the old cylinder was, as there is a hot, cold and heating pipes. Depending on the external wall would determine if you need to go vertical flue or horizontal flue.
Also would need to find new locations for gas run.
If possible viewing the job before installion date is preferable.

We would recommend upgrading to a Combination System, but depending on the size of your home (number of bathrooms, radiators etc) you may need a System boiler which may be more beneficial or Combi + Water Cylinder
