artex should i be able to see it though the new plaster

Should i be able to see the old artex though the new plaster that has just been put on

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Absolutely no mate!!! The surface must be totally smooth flat and brownish before painting. Somebody did a bad job.

You may well be able to see the old pattern through the new plaster, as sometimes it dries in different shades. But certainly not feel or see the old artex clearly, as a flat smooth finish is always the desired effect and of course what you pay for. I do hope the latter of these has not happened to you.
