why won't the paint on my door frame dry

the door frame is about 15 years old and was painted with ronseal clear varnish i have painted over it 48 hours ago with satinwood paint but it won't dry properly and remains sticky to the touch in many places
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

did you use sandpaper?before you apply any finish coat of paint you have to prepare first;but it will dry in time.

sounds like you got a cemacal reaction going on with it try strep-in it back to the wood under coating it then re glos it ? hope this helps ore put a small heater by it
