Getting gloss paint out of a carpet aNd resolving a bad job?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.57 PM

I have just had a disastrous job done on a bedroom. In fact there's more paint on my carpet than the decorator got on the walls. It's also all over the bed :( My question is, they said to let the paint dry (it's dulux gloss) and then it will peel off. The "blobs" are so thick 2 days later they are still drying... What should I do? How can I get it off? They are dark blue and the paint is white. The "decorator" has done a most awful job, the walls are patchy, there is gloss on the walls and emulsion on the gloss. The paint on the wallpaper is patchy with huge prices not painted at all, a feature wall is so many different colours from where they have gone in different directions, anothe question is, what is my best bet to put I right? Paint over with another coat or have it stripped and start again? They say they are coming back, but no-shows and instead we can't use the room as the furniture is in the hall. What's the best thing to do from here? :(

Hello Hope i can help solve most of your problems, first do you really want them back in your home after such bad workmanship and no respect for you or your home, 1) Decoraters you have used are talking nonsence saying leave it to dry then it will peel off, no way,, 2) use only Decoraters with good reviews and profile Feedback 3) yes i would start again, but depends on your budget 4) Dont use white spirit on carpet or beding it will only discolour 5) try using wonder wipes , they clean up paint, sealent,Adhesive,Bitumen,Expanding foam, oil Grease And more, you can get these from most decorating suppliers 6) my next bit of advice would to use an acrylic water base eggshell on your woodwork it will stay whiter longer than oil base gloss, Hope all goes well for you, Good Luck And Many Thanks Lee

Agree with Jeffersons painting & decorating, Make up wipes a must, it gets paint of the face so why not the carpet etc :-))) hope it works out.
